The only option left was to return to the snapshot from before that session. Sending a "Ctrl-Alt-Del" to the VM resulted in a black screen. The screen froze a few seconds after the install began, showing something that looked like a high contrast theme with no text at all. That worked everywhere (including the old VM running Win-10 Build 9879), but NOT in the guest running Win-10 Build 9926.
As usual, I tried to install the latest "Guest Additions v4.3.22" in all VMs. I just upgraded Virtualbox from 4.3.20 to 4.3.22.
